Best time to travel

The central highlands are cooler and wetter than the lowlands, with their own microclimate shaped by the south-west monsoon; January to March and again in July to September (the (dry) spells between monsoon shifts) give the clearest views for the Nanu Oya-Ella train and Little Adam's Peak.
